What is the definition of life coaching?
The first use of the term "coach" in connection with an instructor or trainer arose around 1830 in Oxford University slang for a tutor who "carried" a student through an exam. The word "coaching" thus identified a process used to transport people from where they are to where they want to be.
The first use of the term in relation to sports came in 1861
So much to the definition coming from sports, actually it’s the other way around.
So, your coach is your carrier, your vehicle, to go wherever you need to go in life.
Many have the impression that the coach is someone who tells you what to do, absolutely wrong!
the coach is your co-driver, your map, your GPS (or Navi, whatever you call it)
Since the coach doesn’t tell you where to go, or even how to go there, but brings out in you your needs and your desires, it’s absolutely natural that he/she works with your intuition, by using his/her intuition to find ways to reveal it.
A, so called, motivational coach, will convince you that you have to stick to your plan or your dreams and persist till you make it.
But a real life coach will ask you to explore your plan and your dreams if it’s really what you want, will insist that you ask your intuition will recommend you to change plans according to your intuition and inspiration.
I reality, a real life-coach will help you remove the roadblocks to you intuition, because someone who stands in front of you like a mirror can see better if your dreams are true or they are planted by someone else.
So, if you really want to use the help of a life coach, avoid therapists who added an extra title to their praxis, avoid shouting motivators who make you dance in order to get activated, and most of all avoid mind programmers, wizards and magicians, and people who know everything about you.
A life coach works quietly, discreetly, and lets you do the whole work between sessions. And your work is to listen to your intuition, your nature, your personality. Not hard work if you do it properly.
